The solitude of Latin America
賈西斯‧馬奎斯為1982年度諾貝爾文學獎得主,他被評為拉丁美洲最有影響力的作家,是四個已獲得這項榮譽的拉丁美洲作家中第一個哥倫比亞人。他的作品永遠為弱小貧窮者請命,反抗內部的壓迫與外來的剝削。這本《馬奎斯小說傑作集》〈原名:《沒有人寫信給上校》〉在結構與內容幻想與靈性誠如諾貝爾評審諸公所說:幻想揉合了現代的獨特風格,且把寫實主義帶入新的境界;就思想而言,文中反集權與反獨裁的筆觸非常銳利。最特殊的是故事曲折得讓藝術小說也在這方面作的個非苦澀面貌的示範,而可以把通俗小說的可讀性,使讀者感覺非一口氣讀完不為快。這本集子各篇曾分別在各大報副刊以巨大版面刊出,引起極大震撼與迴響。
